Local Restaurants Step Up to the Plate

Sublime (left)- located in Fort Lauderdale, has created a new take on Natural and Organic Vegan Dining by creating a menu that is gourmet. The eclectic dishes range from sushi with their vegan take on the Dynamite roll to the Tuscan Quiche made with vegan mozzarella. This restaurant does not just serve amazing cuisine, but sets the scene for upscale dining with cascading window waterfalls, skylights, Italian glass tiles, an open-hearth oven, and exotic trees reminiscent of a tropical rainforest.

Pizza Fusion (right)- located in North Miami Beach and Weston, Pizza Fusion serves their organic pizzas, which include a Philly Cheesesteak all the way to Organic Eggplant and Fresh Mozzarella, on cornstarch-made biodegradable platters and uses utensils made from potatoes. Avoiding takeout to reduce your carbon footprint? Pizza Fusion delivers food using hybrid vehicles and even offsets their energy use by purchasing renewable wind energy certificates.

Organic Cocktails

TRU Organic Spirits and Mandarin Oriental, Miami have teamed up to design Miami's first Organic Cocktail Line. The drinks include:
  • The Mandarin (pictured to the left) which is made with TRU Organic Vanilla vodka, tangerine juice, brown sugar and a splash of heavy cream.
  • Basil Melon TRU Organic Lemon vodka, melon, lime wedges, basil leaves, fresh grapefruit juice, simple syrup and seltzer water.
  • Splash TRU Organic Lemon vodka, grapefruit juice, basil leaves and simple syrup.
  • Mandarin Delight TRU Organic vodka, cucumber juice, simple syrup and tonic.
The organic vodkas are not only good for you, but for the environment too- with TRU's commitment in planting trees for every bottle purchased. The menus are even environmentally friendly: the covers are fabricated from reclaimed wood, recycled paper, and soy ink.

Now that's a sexy electric car!

I know, I know... Hybrids are the way to go these days. I'm sorry, but there is something missing from the Prius. That certain je ne sais quoi. Personally, when I see a Prius on the road I tend to think a hippie is about to get out rather than a young professional. Then what's to be thought of those driving electric vehicles? Techie nerds?
That all changed with the Dodge Circuit. Now this is Miami's electric vehicle. Sporty with 0 emissions! 0-60 in less than 5 seconds? That's not what you'd expect with an HOV sticker on the back ;) www.chryslergroupllc.com

No need to feel guilty about this pleasure

Muscles aching after spending the whole day at a Hands on Miami volunteer mission? The Herbal Thai Compress at Mandarin Oriental, Miami truly will make you feel Environmentally Chic again in no time. This ritual involves placing Herbal Thai compresses on sore muscles. The compresses are made from nurturing ingredients such lemongrass, ginger and peppermint and steamed to perfection before they are positioned on key muscles of the body.

What's the frosting on your (organic) cupcake? A tree will be planted in your honor at Everglades National Park just for enjoying this amazing ritual.

Check out the special offer on their Facebook page.
